OAK FRAMED GRAND HALLÂ
This beautiful C16 Grade II listed oak framed hall house had previously had some unfortunate extensions added to the south wing over the years and the repeat client wished to make improvements. In collaboration with the late Tom Macmillan Scott architect, we responded to the client's brief, removed the modern extensions and added a double height oak framed hall. The hall has a perimeter gallery and is open to the vaulted oak-trussed ceiling. All the existing bathrooms were also remodelled and the garage extended. The project also included extensive surface water drainage works and the installation of a ground source heat pump.
The oak frame was engineered and built by specialists Carpenter Oak and the main contractor was PJ Whitmarsh Ltd. The project was completed in Autumn 2024.
